On Aug 26, the Watermark partners hosted a Community Cookout and Neighborhood Walk. Dee Jay Doc and Freshcamp provided hip hop entertainment. These artists improvised lyrics about the history of the Giddings Brook, problems concerning lead in their neighborhoods, and other stories. Dr. Roy Larick, an archaeologist and geologist provided a neighborhood tour, highlighting the history of the Giddings Brook and the geological formations that shape the neighborhoods along the brook. Food, a rain barrel give-away, and the re-opening of the Watermark beach and pool also brought people out to the site on a pleasant Saturday afternoon.
